I fly to Minn from Cali every year for the draft. Because of that thing, last year's draft took over 5 hours, with people moving up and down and trading picks wildly. The host made a draft board, which includes all the keeper picks and traded picks. The year we started the host's bachelor party immediately after the draft we ripped through it in a bit over 2 hours as everyone was in a hurry to party hard. We take 2-3 breaks during the course of it.Īverage time was around 3.5-4 hours. Everyone goes camping together that night. Most of the guys are really into it and take it pretty seriously. Everyone in it old friends that don't see each other much anymore. In a buddies' garage, so it's fairly quiet and private. Usually everyone is there but there have been a few years where 1-2 guys draft online. Very lax draft.ġ2 teams/ 16 rounds, 5 minute clock that only needs to be enforced 1-2 times per draft. Did that for one round and everyone made fun of them enough that they would run up to the board if they really didn't hear the name (usually due to not paying attention).ġ0 Team Live Draft - 15 Rounds : Sub 2 hours. then announce the pick again 5 seconds later "For the deaf bastards in the back who can't pay attention". This helped things move quicker but dip#s would still yell "WHO!?" after every pick. Every pick that was taken I would announce over the PA.
I also enforced a strict 2 min draft clock (using Draft dominator). Then we'd have 20-30 minutes to wait before we'd pick again. Meanwhile there were 4 of us on the tail end of the draft that were tripping over each other to get our picks on the board. These are, invariably the same guys who show up late for the draft and get stuck sitting a mile away (bar draft) and yell "WHO?!" after EVERY.
Used to take 4+ hours thanks to a few mental midgets who would take 3-5 minutes per pick, every pick.
